A QR code generator with a soul

Punchcard is a free QR code generator built like an instrument. Type a link and it is punched into a music-box card, row by row, as the card feeds out of the machine — then turn the crank and the card plays its own tune, every hole a note on the comb. Choose an ink, and download a custom QR code as a print-ready SVG or a transparent PNG for menus, posters, packaging, sleeves and business cards.

Pretty QR codes have a habit of not scanning. These do: the punched slots, the finder squares and the spacing are all tested against real decoders, and every code is generated at error correction level H — the most robust grade — so it keeps scanning even printed small or roughed up.

Questions

Is Punchcard free to use?

Yes. Type any link, download the code as SVG or PNG, and use it anywhere. No sign-up, no watermark.

Do the punched QR codes actually scan?

Yes. Every design choice — the slot shapes, the punched finder squares, the spacing — is tested against real decoders, and exports use error correction level H, the most robust grade.

What can I download?

A clean vector SVG (print-ready) or a 2048px transparent PNG of the punched design in your chosen ink. Place them on light backgrounds so they scan.

Why does it play music?

The card is a real music-box score: each column of the code is a tooth on the comb, so every link plays its own tune as the card feeds through the machine.
